It's been a hectic week
It's been a big week for music this week with three amazing releases from local bands, so without further ado, here's a little round-up
Kicking off the week with a bang, experimental art-pop duo KiosK have released their long-awaited debut single, Dogma — marking a fresh chapter following a recent lineup change. Still operating under the name KiosK, the band has undergone a striking transformation in both sound and songwriting. Now fronted by bassist/synth player Maz and keyboardist/vocalist Bella, the duo introduce a new era with their bold, electronic, genre-blurring style on this powerful new track. The pair celebrated the release with a headline show in the bar room of Hyde Park Book Club with support from locals Bathing Suits and Private Reg.
Next up is Bank Details, who on Saturday 23rd dropped their second single Persian Carpets... with a bonus B-side track Machine Grows. This was a pleasant surprise given the long wait since their first single, Undone, dropped in March 2024. Similarly, the group launched the tracks with a gig at the New Headingley Club thanks to Private Regcords, the band were joined by performances from Paper Hats and Contrail
Finally, ending the week was the release of nova.sol, Leeds-based jazz group's debut 4 EP titled 'Cornerstone'. The tracklist contains all their prior released discography alongside a new track, 'Cornerstone' naturally lol. Anyway, it's always amazing to hear new music from this group, with their track record being pretty bulletproof so far. The EP is available via CD or the usual streaming services. Go check it out!
So yeah, as you can clearly see, we've all been very lucky this week, being able to sink our teeth into tons of new music this week. Three very different and all outstanding pieces of work!
